Submit your ART piece to "GRP Art Contest" Folder. GRP Art Contest
Edit: You can make as many art pieces for the theme as you want, but you can only submit ONE ENTRY into the contest art folder, so choose your best one.
NO LATE ENTRIES will qualify for the contest, so please turn in your piece in plenty of time to overcome "technical difficulties" if they do show up.
What this contest is about is the origin stories of the monsters we reverie during Halloween and how other cultures celebrate about the dead, spirits, ghosts and demons.
Countries/ Cultures around the world have their own folklore about monsters like the boogeyman or Dracula, werewolves and witches, that they tell children at night so they behave or else... Krampus is gonna get em.
Countries/ and Cultures in the past and today also celebrate other holidays besides Halloween around this time of year, such as the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos.)
Please choose either:
A Monster folklore that is...
LOCAL to the country you want to represent in your ART piece and draw the story behind it.
To give you an idea: ghosts, demons, witchcraft, monsters (frankenstien, werewovles, vampires, the Loch Ness Monster, Krampus (yes he's legit for this theme) etc.)
The Headless Horseman is another good example.
If you choose this you can only do one Monster Folklore in a picture. (You can't combine two unrelated stories like say Dracula and Jason the Killer. If you want to do a picture about the origins of Vampires that is valid.)
OR A Halloween themed festival or cultural tradition (something to do with the dead, ghosts, spirits, etc.) that's LOCAL to the country in the piece.
If you do choose to depict the festival of Hallows-eve/ Halloween for your picture, you have to do the historical version, not modern day Halloween. You can do a comparison picture of the two though.
In the art piece we NEED:
The country you are representing has to be present.
If it's an OC, please include a Cannon Character with them. (Yes, you can use State/ Province OCs for some larger countries, just make sure a Cannon country is with them.)
If it's Mature Art (gorey dark art), please label it as so. If you're not sure, please ask us.
The names of the characters in your piece.
The name of the Monster folklore or Festival you chose.
A short summary about the Monster or Festival you chose. (We just need a summary. You can put a couple of links in your sources if you want.)
Yes, you can have more than just your main character in the picture. Include as many as you like, we just NEED
the name of the country you want to represent in your piece.
If additional characters are OCs please mention which countries they are (because there are lots of different interpretations for OC, and we don't know them personally.)
You can make the main character the monster, you can make them get chased by the monster, you can paint an origin story, the skys the limit on how you want to represent the THEME, just make sure to include everything we require so that it can qualify.
